About Puja
Sankashta Hara Chaturthi, observed on the Krishna Paksha Chaturthi, is revered as a powerful day dedicated to Lord Gaṇeśa, the remover of obstacles and the bestower of wisdom, success, and protection. Worship performed on this sacred tithi is especially effective for overcoming difficulties, resolving delays, and attaining stability in both material and spiritual pursuits.
On this auspicious occasion, Aṣṭa Gaṇapati Ārādhanā and Homam is performed, invoking eight principal forms of Lord Gaṇeśa selected from the thirty-two classical manifestations described in the śāstras. Each form represents a distinct divine function—removal of obstacles, protection from negativity, bestowal of knowledge, success in endeavors, inner strength, and auspicious beginnings—making this worship comprehensive and deeply transformative.
The puja begins with proper saṅkalpa, followed by Aṣṭa Gaṇapati Ārādhanā, where each of the eight forms of Gaṇapati is invoked with specific mantras, offerings, and upacāras as prescribed in the Vedic and Smārta traditions. This systematic worship ensures that the devotee receives balanced grace, addressing challenges at both external and subtle levels.
Following the ārādhanā, Gaṇapati Homam is performed, wherein the same sacred mantras are offered into the consecrated fire. Through Agni, the divine messenger, the mantra-śakti and the devotee’s saṅkalpa are carried directly to Lord Gaṇeśa, sealing the ritual with spiritual potency and completion.
The scriptures praise worship of Gaṇeśa on Sankashta Chaturthi, declaring:
“चतुर्थ्यां गणनाथस्य पूजनं यः करोति वै ।
सर्वान् विघ्नान् हरेत्तस्य गणेशो नात्र संशयः ॥”
—
“One who worships Lord Gaṇeśa on Chaturthi is freed from all obstacles; of this there is no doubt.”
Our learned team of Pandits at VedaVidhi will perform this sacred Aṣṭa Gaṇapati Sādhanā and Homam with strict adherence to authentic Vedic tradition, maintaining mantra-śuddhi, procedural sanctity, and śāstric discipline, seeking Lord Gaṇeśa’s blessings for obstacle removal, success, protection, peace of mind, and spiritual progress in the lives of devotees.
