About Puja

Mauni Amāvasyā is a supremely sacred day for inner purification and karmic release. On this powerful occasion, the Maha Liṅga Archana with 365 mud Liṅgas, followed by the Mṛtyuñjaya Pāśupata Abhiṣekam and Homa, will be performed at the revered kṣetra of Srisailam, the abode of Sri Mallikārjuna Jyotirlinga. Each of the 365 Liṅgas represents a year-long offering of devotion, seeking protection, healing, and freedom from fear and unseen obstacles.
After the Liṅga Archana, Lord Shiva is worshipped through the sacred Pāśupata Abhiṣekam, invoking His compassionate yet fierce form that grants liberation from disease, accidents, and untimely death. This is followed by the Mṛtyuñjaya Pāśupata Homa, where the same mantras are offered into the sacred fire, surrendering all afflictions into Agni.

The Vedas glorify this mantra:
“tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭi-vardhanam
urvārukam iva bandhanān mṛtyor mukṣīya māmṛtāt”

“We worship the three-eyed Lord who liberates us from the bondage of death and grants immortality.”
Our learned team of Pandits at Vedavidhi will perform this sacred ritual at Srisailam with strict adherence to Vedic tradition, praying for the devotee’s longevity, protection from chronic suffering, karmic purification, and the compassionate grace of Lord Mahādeva.
