On this sacred day, Nava Narasiṁha Hōmam will be performed at the holy kṣetra of Ahobilam, the divinely manifested abode of Sri Narasimha, where the Lord revealed His nine powerful forms.
This rare and powerful homam invokes all nine manifestations of Lord Narasiṁha, seeking protection from negative forces, relief from fear, victory over enemies, removal of deep-rooted obstacles, and restoration of courage, confidence, and dharmic strength. Svāti Nakṣatra greatly amplifies the protective and transformative power of Narasiṁha worship, making this an exceptionally auspicious combination.
Ritual Sequence and Spiritual Significance:
The ritual begins with Sankalpam, taken in the devotee’s name and gotra, praying for protection from known and unknown dangers, relief from mental and karmic disturbances, and the removal of adversities affecting health, career, family, and spiritual progress.
This is followed by the sacred Nava Narasiṁha Hōmam, where powerful Vedic and Tantric mantras dedicated to the nine Narasiṁha forms are offered into the consecrated fire. Each āhuti invokes a specific aspect of the Lord’s fierce compassion, dissolving fear, neutralizing negativity, and establishing divine guardianship around the devotee and family.
The scriptures glorify Lord Narasiṁha as the ultimate protector:
“नृसिंहः परतो ज्योतिः नृसिंहः परतो महः”
— “Narasimha is the supreme light; Narasimha is the supreme power.”
